What's Your Secret Sauce?

What's Your Secret Sauce?

1) Here are the five ways in which I believe I have something special as far as human capital:

1: I am both introverted and extroverted, as a result, I am able to connect well with people from both sides. This is something that you do not generally find in people because introverts do not push themselves to be extroverted, whereas I have done that a lot of time and it makes me come off as a much more extroverted person. I understand that in some situations it is better to be more outgoing and I have learned to push myself in that area.

2: By virtue of my gender and background, you do not generally see someone like me in the field of gaming. There are not a lot of females who grew up playing games and my childhood was a very interesting one. I did not like spending time outside and have been playing video games my entire life, as a result I know a lot of trivia and information that someone who has not been involved their whole life would not know.

3: I have had a lot of unique experiences because I have been traveling since I was very young. I think that not many people have been able to be in contact with many different cultures, or if they have they are generally not as young as I am.

4: As a result of my parents, I think that I have a lot of unique skills because of their professions. I grew up with them very involved in my education so I think I learned a lot of management skills and logical thinking skills from both of them. I think that I have always strived towards higher achievement and tried to make the most out of these skills and that is something very unique.

5: One thing that makes me very unique is that I think I get along with a lot of different types of people. I have been lucky to make friends with groups of people that do not generally interact. I have been close friends with super preppy cheerleaders, extremely nerdy introverts, and everything in between. I think that my personality lends itself well to getting along with many different people and there really isn't any specific type of person that annoys me. I think that is rare and a lot of people just have some personality types that they can't stand or personality traits that others can't get along with. I think that I am lucky to be somewhere in between where I have a lot of overlap in different backgrounds.

2) Interviews

In this first interview, I think the emphasis was on my ambition and my caring nature. He also said that I am good at getting things done when I have started something. He also brought up that my unique childhood changed the way that I look at the world and that makes me unique from other people who do not generally see the world like I do.

In the second interview, the person I interviewed said I was very good at coordinating other people and I have a lot of management skills and leadership skills that are unique and not many people have.

In the third interview, the person I interviewed emphasized that I get along with many different types of people and I am a really good judge of character.

In the fourth interview, the emphasis was on how I have an eye for opportunity and I am good at finding solutions to problems when they appear. Even if I do not necessarily put those solutions to use, I do a good job thinking about them.

In the fifth interview, the person I interviewed said that I work really hard to strive for good interpersonal relationships. Also, they said that one of my best strengths is that I am very loyal to people and I am able to put their needs above my own.

3) Reflection

I think that I see myself in a similar light as some of my friends. I think the biggest difference between my own view of myself and my friends' views of me is that I see my skills in terms of my unique experiences. I think that there was a lot of overlap, especially in the third interview and the first interview. I think that I assess myself rather harshly and it is difficult to look at myself and think of these many differences I have and how unique I am from other people. I think it is a lot easier for someone to look at me and tell me what makes me different than it is for me to look at myself. This is one of the main things that cause my differences in how I look at things. I think that my interviewees are probably correct about a lot of things but it is hard to see things from their perspective. I think the corrections I would make is that I definitely would add a lot of the things my friends said. I do think that I would add my management skills as one of my unique skills. I also think that I would include my ability to find solutions to problems, whether or not I implement them. I think this activity really helped me to open my eyes and see exactly where my talents are.
