Customer Avatar

Personally, when I think about who is using my business I have two main ideas about demographics.
Firstly, I believe that the main people interested in new tech and renting it out are people that are obsessed with keeping up with new technology but cannot afford to purchase it. This would generally be a young person, and likely a male.
I like to think that the hobbies of my prototypical customer are likely nerd-related. They probably play a lot of video games or read comics. Maybe they even like to do research in their free time about new gaming computer parts or even learn to program. I assume they do not drive a very expensive car because they are unable to afford to buy these new parts for their computer. I think that they like to watch TV shows about superheroes, or even anime. This person is probably in their early 20s or maybe even in high school and using their chore money to rent out equipment to play with their friends.

I think that what I have in common with my customer avatar is a lot of things. Although I'm not the same gender as my prototypical customer, I think that I am interested in a lot of the same things. I am very interested in nerd culture and keeping up to date with the newest technology. I do not think that it is a coincidence that I have the same interests as my prototypical customer. Obviously, I want to provide a product that would be something I would be interested in. There are a lot of memories of me being younger and not being able to afford the latest systems. I also had a lot of friends that wanted to play things too but couldn't afford to pay for them. I think that we would have all really enjoyed this service if it existed when I was younger, and as a result, I want to provide it to people who still have this problem.

  1. Kelsey,
Your post is very well constructed and organized which makes it easy to read. I like the pictures you used as they directly represented what you were saying in the post. I believe your typical customer is more than just young males as it is such a wide and popular idea. All ages would be interested in your service and most of the time parents would be paying for their child wanting the tech. This post is hard to directly tie it to an age group as people of all ages love video games.
